Why setting goals for the blog is important!
Starting a blog has been really exciting and fulfilling these past 4 months, but it’s important to setting goals to make sure I stay motivated and focused. With having 4 kids and a full time job, it can be overwhelming to carve out a little time for me to “express” myself and just write.
While it’s been great to have big dreams and aspirations, building a successful blog will take time and effort. In this article, I’ll go over some of MY realistic goals.
Consistency
Consistency is key when it comes to building a successful blog and setting goals. A realistic goal for a blog is to post regularly, so my goal it to write a new article at least once a week. Right now, getting a proper work flow or schedule that works for me and can stick to it, as this can help build a following and increase engagement.
I’d like to have about 40-45 articles posted by Jan 2024.
Traffic
Building traffic to the blog does take time, but my realistic goal is to aim for consistent growth! By my research, this can be done by using pinterest/facebook to promote my blog, writing high-quality content that is SEO-friendly, and engaging with my audience through comments and newsletters.
My cousin Gregory Ciotti has been extremely helpful with information regarding traffic to my website so I appreciate all the help I can get!
i’d like to have 1000 page views a month by the end of the year.

Engagement
A realistic goal is to aim for consistent engagement with your audience and I’ll do this by responding to comments and emails, asking for feedback and suggestions, and creating content that encourages interaction.
Please let me know down in the comments if I can improve in some way!
Monetization
While monetizing a blog can be a great goal, it’s important to be realistic about the timeframe and potential income.
A realistic goal is to start small and work your way up. This can be done by using affiliate marketing, sponsored content, and other monetization strategies that align with my blog’s audience.
For right now, I’m using Amazon affiliate but I’d eventually like to try other affiliate sites as well.
Growth
This can be done by networking with other bloggers in your niche, guest posting on other blogs, and utilizing social media to reach new audiences.
My goal is to reach out and start connecting with other bloggers and even get a few pointers from them too!
I’ve joined a couple of blog Facebook groups so that should hopefully increase my audience as well.
Learning
Blogging is an ongoing learning experience and I’ve been reading and watching so many videos regarding SEO but it is still a mystery to me sometimes. I’d like to go to an online blog conference to get the new information out there!
Final Splash
Setting realistic goals is important for staying motivated and focused. Hopefully, by aiming for consistency, traffic growth, engagement, monetization, growth, and ongoing learning, I can build a successful blog over time. I just have to remember to be patient and persistent and enjoy the journey!
